Women’s basketball continues impressive season

by DailySports on January 17, 2012

Last Friday, the women’s basketball team lost its first game in nearly two months against conference rival Bowdoin. It was a back-and-forth affair that saw the Polar Bears get the last laugh on a go-ahead three-pointer with 56 seconds left that secured a Bowdoin 57-56 victory.
The defeat snapped the Jumbos’ 11-game win streak, but the team was quick to respond, defeating conference opponent Colby on Saturday, 59-50. The Jumbos followed up the impressive performance with a dominating double-digit victory against Wheaton College on Monday.
The Jumbos will look to make it three wins in a row and improve to 4-1 in conference play when they travel to Wesleyan on Friday to take on the Pioneers.
