I haven’t gotten around to watching the most recent episode of “FNL” yet (and I hope to write about it more when I do), but from everything I’ve heard and read, it’s a knockout.
SPOILER ALERT (after the jump)
Zach Gilford has consistently proven what a top-notch actor he is, even when he’s playing opposite the underrated masters who are Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton. The scene between Matt and Coach (skip to 0:38) in season two’s “Leave No One Behind” is one of the best I can remember.
In the last episode, we found out that Matt’s dad had been killed while on duty in Iraq. In “The Son,” Gilford apparently knocks it out of the park yet again, as Saracen’s copes with the loss of his father, this time for good. It’s sad to think that his tenure on the show is coming to a close, and he will soon be given the Smash/Street goodbye.
Can’t wait to actually catch this one. For those of you who have seen it, does the episode live up to the hype?
“Friday Night Lights” airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on DirecTV’s The 101 Network.
