Each semester, members of the Tufts community (present and past—if they can nab a ticket), are treated to the carefully cultivated, crafted, and choreographed delights of Spirit of Color (SoC), one of Tufts’ best-known dance troupes. The group originated in 1993, and has since been treating the Tufts community to creative dance performances! An SoC tradition, the “Senior Dance” featuring members of each year’s graduating class, captures the essence of what it means to be in SoC—to grow, thrive, and leave it on the floor each time. Jumboslice interviewed members of SoC’s 2012 graduating class, to learn about what makes the group work, and how their legacy transcends graduation day.
